Lakelse Lake is home to one of approximately 28 wild sockeye stocks associated with the Skeena River. Since 2015, an underwater camera with a motion sensor has been set up each fall on Schulbuckhand (Scully) Creek in an effort to monitor the number of sockeye and coho using Scully Creek during spawning. The footage is reviewed annually for stock assessment.
