Interpretive Events

Interpretive events are held at Furlong Bay throughout the summer months.

These events vary year to year and feature a wide variety of guest hosts.

Fish prints

Fish printing is a great way to learn about the physical characteristics of a Coho Salmon. Kids get to create their own unique prints and take them home.


Lakelse Birds

Learn about local birds by joining in on an interactive and informative presentation followed by a bird watching walk.


Lake SafEty with Terrace Search and Rescue

LWSS often partners with Terrace Search and Rescue to put on a Boat and Water Safety event at the Furlong Bay boat launch. Participants learn how to wear lifejackets properly, how to tie simple knots, throw throw bags, and explore the search and Rescue truck and boat.


Salmon,Fish Habitat, and more with SkeenaWild

At this event SkeenaWild teaches kids about the salmon life cycle, habitat, and diet with interactive activities.


NLWS Wildlife Presentation

For this event LWSS partnered with the Northern Lights Wildlife Society to give a talk about being bear aware and wildlife rehabilitation.
